INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAM
About Methodist San Antonio

Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio is one of the largest hospital systems by census in Texas, with a network of 11 hospitals serving communities across the region. Methodist Hospital of San Antonio stands as the largest hospital in Texas based on many measures.

Proudly located in San Antonio, the seventh largest city in the nation and consistently rated one of the best large cities to raise a family, we combine the advantages of a major metropolitan center with a welcoming, family-friendly environment.

Our mission is to deliver exceptional, cost-effective, and accessible healthcare. For resident physicians, this means the unique opportunity to train and serve a diverse patient population while being mentored by an outstanding team of medical professionals and faculty.

In 2023, Methodist Hospital, the home base of graduate medical education, opened a dedicated space for graduate medical education, designed for simulation training, didactics, and teaching, along with modern resident workspaces. Residents also have access to a dedicated continuity clinic, where they provide the highest quality of care to the community, ensuring well-rounded training in both inpatient and outpatient medicine.

With a broad spectrum of training experiences across Methodist Healthcare's expansive system and the cultural vibrancy of San Antonio, our residents find not only an excellent place to learn medicine but also a great place to call home.
